Radio

One thing that the Art Deco period spawned was a proliferation of low cost radios that were constructed with inexpensive new plastics. As inovative newer plastics like Catalyn came into the market they opened up a whole world of color and design possibilities that  previously did not exist with Bakelite and it’s drab blacks and browns. Some of the wonderful radios from this time had innovative shapes and designs, some of which remind me of time pieces from the period.
